Alexander von Humboldt was a polymathic German Enlightenment philosopher, naturalist, explorer, and writer. He is best known for his five-volume work, Kosmos, in which he sought to understand the natural world as an interconnected whole. In The Unknown, we explore a piano jazz exploration inspired by Humboldt’s quest for knowledge. This piece is about the search for answers, for understanding the hidden complexities of the natural world. It is a reflective piece, with a hint of mystery and wonder.
